Non-Slip Wood Ramp Treatment
Wooden ramps tend to require a little more maintenance than some of the alternative surfaces. Boards may need replacement, repainting or resealing to be protected from the elements. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has specific requirements in the construction of ramps, how steep a ramp must be width of the ramp, handrail design, etc. However, even ramps complying with the guidelines are dangerous if they are slippery. The incline, high traffic and susceptibility for contact with liquids, create a serious safety concern. So taking all of these risks into consideration it is extremely important to create as much traction as possible on these wooden ramps to prevent these slip and fall accidents.
